...come on down!!!!

Dreams....you've heard they are crazy when they are from pregnant woman; and I am here to attest that.  They are so vivid in color as well as in details.  Of the past week, I will have to say I now have a reoccurring dream.  The first time this dream came to me; I was in 'The Price is Right' audience and I was called to the stage.  It was so exciting; people were cheering and the colors were so vivid I could compare it to the one scene from 'Wizard of Oz'.  I got up there and I won!!!  (I know you're thinking...what did she win!??!  It was $30,000).  It was intense being up there on the stage; but I won and was jumping like a mad woman!

Last night this dream came to me again; just a different way.  I was running in a marathon relay and I was trying to get a great time; but was pissed that my portion was literally inside a shopping mall; twists and turns, I wasn't getting good time.  But, as I rounded one bend, I saw signs "The Price is Right"...and then, my relay portion required me to stop and look at the studio; so I ran and as I entered; there were so many people I knew; so I kept talking to everyone....people who I haven't seen or talked with in years...then, the show was getting ready to start; so I had to go and finish my leg.  So, I started to bolt away when the producers mentioned that I wasn't allowed to leave because Bob Barker (who I know in real life is now Drew Carey)...but Bob Barker wanted me to be one of the girls to show the items.  I was refusing, saying I couldn't because I had to finish this race and that others were waiting for me...and then, I woke up!

Once I woke up; I couldn't help but remember those colors in the dream.  I actually wanted to go back to my dream (not go to work).  I thought the dream was a perfect analyzation of my current place in life.  There are so many good things going on through my personal life but I am being pulled in so many ways with others relying on me.

Wonder...

As I lay here just about to fall asleep; I can feel him kicking inside of me.  I wonder who he will look like; what little personality will come, I think of when he will be two...I imagine him after getting out from a bath doing a little boy "i'm naked" dance.   I wonder what sports or interests he may develop...I wonder if he will be like Mommy and like Michigan or be like Daddy and choose OSU.   I wonder if he'll need braces...if his mouth is like his parents; I already feel bad for him.  I wonder what girl will steal his heart from his Mommy...and I hope if she breaks it; that she will do it nicely.  I wonder what his first job will be?  Where he chooses college?  And what he will choose to with his life after college.

But more than anything, I wonder about that first moment he and I will meet; I wonder about counting the little fingers and toes.  I wonder if Sean and I will have a moment to stare at this precious joy that is going to be brought into our lives.  A moment where time will stand still and Sean and I can point out features of who's who.  I am more than half way; and I just keep thinking about the few moments after delivery...I can't wait; I want to meet him so badly and hold him in my arms! I will wait though until it is time because now at 22 weeks, he is measuring one pound and 11 inches long from head to toes.

**I hope to have a dream about him soon, so I can get a sneak peak of who he will look like.

Really....is that necessary?

Do you remember as a child that your Mom would correct you telling you that what you just said was "inappropriate" and you shouldn't say what is on your mind? Well, the joys of pregnancy are great; it's fun having people ask boy or girl, names, share their fun stories, etc. However, today is the day where I am about to scream at the next person who asks me when am I going to be due...and when I answer simply with "July" they FREAK out on me "Are you having twins?" "Wow, is there a tiger in there?" "Ohh, you poor thing come summer!". Needless to say, I didn't share July 30th with them!

So, after hearing this comment two times today, I turn to my quick whit 70 year old employee and asked him..."Okay Al, I need to have something to come back with"...so, without missing a beat he told me that I should pretend I have no clue what these people are talking about...due?  huh?  what?  I laughed and about 20 minutes later; bamn; sure enough another woman proclaims she hasn't seen me in a while and thought maybe I would have delivered.  (My instant thought was I'M ONLY HALF WAY!!!)  That's when Al chimed in..."delivered...what pizza?"  I started rolling on the ground (not really) with laughter, totally disregarding this woman.  My other employee, Chelsey chimed in and was like; "ohh; is she pregnant?"  It was great to have support from my staff members who could take such frustration and turn it around to laughter.

By the way, I will not be wearing that same outfit ever AGAIN!

My winning bet...

Yes, Sean and I had a bet on who would be right with boy or girl....the winner got to choose what they wanted to do for a day. This day was also to celebrate hitting our halfway mark of 20 weeks as well. As you all know, I won....it's a boy! So, I picked lunch at my favorite restaurant (Texas Roadhouse) and outlet shopping!!!

We set out last Sunday with nothing but blue skies. It was so great. When we arrived at the outlet shopping mall, I had three stores in mind- ALL BABY STORES I may add. We shopped around holding hands from store to store and then it HIT....we bought WAY too many clothes for little Connor. (I may add that he will be a stylin little guy). We know that people will be buying him clothes as well, but we knew we wanted to pick out our own including the take home outfit, baptism outfit, and well, who could resist the clearance rack for next years Valentine's Day!?! As you can see I think WE may have gone overboard!.

Here's how it all happened in detail; as one can imagine; guys don't like to shop, right? Well, the soon-to-be Daddy who's thrilled beyond words about his little boy...had his arms filled with clothes from just the first store! As we walked into the last store, Sean stopped and made us agree that this would be THE LAST STORE that we buy any clothes from for at least....a month! lol. A month; heck, I can wait that long! Then, Sean said....maybe actually this better be the LAST STORE we buy clothes at until we meet the little guy. So, as we browsed the racks...I agreed and said that we couldn't buy anymore....then, Sean...said, yes, we need to focus on baby furniture! (Sure enough, as soon as I got home I went online shopping for baby furniture I didn't buy anything though).

After all of our shopping, we drove and got some ice cream and ate it outside even though it's still a little cold. After ice cream, Sean wanted to go look for baby furniture...I of course wanted to go and share with my Mom all of the clothes we bought...so, we did. Once we arrived at my Mom's house; I hit a wall and was tired; so we went home and relaxed. It was such a nice day to spend with my husband!

The UltraSound...

The moment finally came and now it's time to share. It was 9:00am and Sean and I had already had a rough morning!!! We were both anxious and excited to get out the door, and I took my new prenatal vitamins as Sean threw me some water and then a caffiene free coke so the sugars would make the baby move.

On our way out of the driveway, we received a phone call from my Mom to wish us luck. We then, got to the stop light; and BAM! It hit! I felt so sick. I said; "Sean, I think I am going to throw up" he then says to me; "Lynsey, you have no reaction time, so you need to let me know what I need to do!!" Of course, I didn't want to stop to puke as I was anxious to get to McD's for their breakfast (you have to admit; once in a while; their breakfast is good!) Then, it REALLY hit; "Sean pull over!!" There, on the side of a parking lot; I threw up. This is now my second trimester; and I am puking now twice. What is going on?!?! Well, after I threw up; I felt SOO much better; I hopped back into the car as if nothing happened. Sean on the other hand...he was like; "uhmm...now I think I am sick!". He was fine, of course. And, I figured it was probably because of the mixture of pop and new vitamin (it was a gel pill).

We made it to McDonald's and got some yummy food. I tell you, they have the best OJ. It was nice to sit there and talk about "the unknown" one last time.

Afterwards, it was 10 minutes till 9 and we arrived at the Dr.'s. We sat there (still laughing at me getting sick in the car) and anxious to know the measurements & what the babies sex was. They called my name and minutes later I had that jelly stuff on my belly and measuring everything.

The due date is still set for July 30th; the arms, head, etc are all measuring well. There was one tiny concern on the heart....the ultrasound couldn't get a good enough picture of it; let alone be able to see all 4 chambers so in 4 weeks, I will go back for another ultrasound. The Dr. didn't seem too terribly concerned because I am healthy, and everything else is looking fine, but in 4 weeks he will give us the green light or send us to a specialist. He did say there was no need to cause concern. While measuring the arms and legs; the ultrasound technician mentioned; I am going to measure the extremeties now. As she went from the arms down to the legs, I saw his little penis there on the screen. I knew it! I then hit Sean, in a "ha, ha, I was right" kind of thing; but I didn't say anything because I didn't want to interupt the lady doing her job. Then, when she said, would you like to know what you are having...I wasn't one bit shocked to hear 'It's a BOY!" Sean did get a little teary eyed with the news...I of course, competive one was just proud I was right!

And, now the drum roll please...Connor Michael's photo shoot!!!

(Face looking at us!)

(Forearm and hand; he's waving 'Hello!')

(No, folks that's not his arm poking out; 'It's a BOY!' for sure!)

The Unknown...

This evening is my last evening (hopefully) not knowing the measurements of this child; hoping that everything marks a healthy child...as well as not knowing if this is a girl or a boy!  I am excited for my  20 week halfway appointment as well as a little unnerved; which I feel may be a natural feeling for a first time mom-to-be.  I'm going in with this baby as already God's blessing to my husband and I...and whatever may be, will be.

We already have all of these hopes and wishes for our child.  We want him/her to be able to enjoy in the things we did as children.  For me, I want them to have siblings, to be able to go to preschool, to have neighborhood friends to play with, and to excel in their schooling.  For Sean, he also wants them to participate in a healthy lifestyle, be on a team and deal with working as a team, to learn the appreciation of work, and to find the belief in God.   We want so much already for this little unborn, unknown sex child.

It's been a hard unknown not knowing or being able to control that we want this to be a healthy, happy child.   We optimistically plan that everything will work out just as planned and no matter what, we firmly believe that everything does indeed happen for a reason.  More than anything, I know I have married such an amazing guy who is going to be such a GREAT father...I can't wait for Sean to be able to feel this baby kick.  Wish us luck for tomorrow for nothing but good news to come our way!

Welcome!!!

Welcome all to the baby blog! Here you will find posts about the baby. Today I am 19 weeks and 1 day and can't wait to find out next Tuesday if we will be welcoming a little boy or girl into this world. I think this baby is a boy and my husband Sean, thinks for sure it's a girl...so at least one of us will be correct!

Please feel free to browse as well as leave some comments. I believe that there are two pages, so don't forget to click back and check for more postings! I welcome you all here and would love for you to check out my other blog: The Happy Life I've Dreamed Of.

Enjoy!

What do you think we are having?

We have set up a website for family and friends to put in their input....boy or girl? Early, late, or just on time? Height, weight, etc. This is just something to see what people are thinking. It actually will be fun to look at once everything is said and done. So, if you would like; take a look and give your input too!

www.expectnet.com and then on the left side it will say "baby game name" It's all one word: BabyMcGuinness. HAVE FUN!
